2018 Symposium on Preparing College-Ready Writers

One World Education is proud to announce that its 2018 Symposium on Preparing College-Ready Writers will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery in Washington, DC.

The Symposium's theme is "Connecting Curriculum and Professional Development" and it builds off of research by the event's keynote speaker, Sue Pimentel. It will feature a panel of leaders from the public and charter school community and presentations from teachers in the One World Teacher Fellowship.

Last year's Symposium was a huge success, featuring two panels of highly regarded educators and academic experts.

One World Education is thrilled that Susan Pimentel will be the Symposium’s keynote speaker. Sue was a lead writer of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts/Literacy and is a Founding Partner of Student Achievement Partners. Susan’s efforts have been focused on helping communities, districts, and states across the nation work together to advance education reform and champion proven tools for increasing academic rigor. Her work has resulted in the phase-out of student tracking, enriched core curricula, and advances in results-based school accountability programs.
