Become A Partner

One World Education partners with school districts, charter networks, individual schools, and summer programs to improve research, argumentative writing, and presentation skills for middle and high school students. The One World Program is tailored to meet the academic goals and duration of each partner, spanning from four weeks to a full semester (semester program for grades 11-12 only).

The One World Program is delivered in two formats:

One World Cornerstone
One World Capstone
Grades 5-12 / 4-8 Week Units
Grades 11-12 / 8-Weeks to Full-Semester Unit
Cornerstone units introduce the core skills and concepts of a rigorous research and writing project. For many students, this is the first substantive project where they connect credible research to their own ideas for solutions to real-world problems. Each unit works around a specific, age-appropriate theme:
  • Grade 5/6 - School Issues
  • Grade 7/8 - National & Civic Issues
  • Grade 9/10 - Cultural & Global Issues
  • Grade 11/12 - College & Career Issues
The Capstone enables students to embark on a college-level research, writing, and presentation experience. In addition to conventional research, students learn strategies of applying technical and communication skills to conduct community and expert interviews, as well as skills for crafting alternative writing formats as they build genuine expertise about critical college and career issues through the lens of social justice. As necessary groundwork for college and the workforce, the One World Capstone prepares students to present their work both orally and visually, with the use of technology, to school leaders and peers.

The One World Program includes:

Curriculum - Every teacher receives access to a digital Curriculum Guide with 10 lessons that cover the program's four stages. Each unit addresses between 20-25 Common Core State Standards. Read more here.

Professional Development - Empowering preview sessions allow teachers to take on the role of the students and provide time and guidance to differentiate the program to meet the needs of all learners. Read more here.

One World Journals - Students receive journals to guide them through every stage, allowing them to demonstrate their skills through exercises and assessments, ending with a final Argumentative Reflection. Read more here.

Evaluation - Cornerstones and the Capstone contain pre- and post-assessments to measure growth in a range of Common Core skills. Read more here.
