We will work with their expert consultants to develop a comprehensive plan for year-round donor cultivation and stewardship. Everyone benefits when nonprofits team with other community organizations. One World Education has had a great partnership with the Rotary Club of Capitol Hill for many years. Two of its officers have served on our Board of Directors. It's Foundation has provided grants for the One World Program and the College and Career Senior Challenge. DCPS Chancellor Kaya Henderson, the keynote speaker at last night's College and Career Senior Challenge, praised the seniors who have participated in the One World Writing Program, saying "'Learning in action' involves preparation and practice." And that is what these 25 seniors did! On February 12, 2015, 19 DCPS high school seniors participated in the inaugural Senior College & Career Writing Fair presented their arguments in front of more than 200 people, persuading the audience to their position on multiculturalism, hazing, wage equality, undocumented students, and more. One World Education was once again awarded a grant from The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation to increase the number of middle school students benefiting from the One World Writing Program. The Foundation focuses primarily on helping youth secure a promising future by supporting secondary and higher education, mentoring, and youth leadership programs. Read more
