For the young people who work with One World, the unaddressed police brutality and stark inequality fueling this week’s protests across the nation has been a daily reality for most of their young lives. It’s startling to go back in our library of student writing to see they have indeed been telling us this for a long time. Chaltu’s memories of the George Zimmerman trial (see her essay below) remind us both how long this has been happening and the deep scars it leaves on young people.
