An Amazing Learning Experience for Your Students

The One World Academy is an opportunity for students in the District of Columbia to come together in a virtual after-school program to transform their One World essays into dynamic presentations. Over an 8-week period, students will work with performance artist Drew Anderson, One World staff, and teacher leaders to craft a powerful message on a topic they care about. Students who complete the Academy will go on to compete for scholarships and prizes at the One World Challenge in early April.

How It Works

  1. Students complete the One World program in classrooms to produce an argumentative essay.
  2. Teachers nominate students for the Academy.
  3. Selected students attend weekly virtual after-school sessions to hone their arguments. See the Academy calendar here.
  4. Students deliver their presentations to their peers, families, and community leaders during the One World Challenge!
