An Amazing Learning Experience for Your Students
The One World Academy is an opportunity for students in the District of Columbia to come together in a virtual after-school program to transform their One World essays into dynamic presentations. Over an 8-week period, students will work with performance artist Drew Anderson, One World staff, and teacher leaders to craft a powerful message on a topic they care about. Students who complete the Academy will go on to compete for scholarships and prizes at the One World Challenge in early April.
How It Works
- Students complete the One World program in classrooms to produce an argumentative essay.
- Teachers nominate students for the Academy.
- Selected students attend weekly virtual after-school sessions to hone their arguments. See the Academy calendar here.
- Students deliver their presentations to their peers, families, and community leaders during the One World Challenge!
