Our new fiscal year is off to a great start, with renewed funding from three foundations, and new funding from another, all of whom are committed to supporting the work we do with local students and teachers. The strength of our programming and the number of middle and high school students we can reach is only increased through these generous grants, and we value their continued support.
The first is The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation. Well known throughout the Capital Region, The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation is the largest private, independent, local foundation focused exclusively on the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and is committed to improving the quality of life for its residents. Education is one of the Foundation's main areas of focus.
The second is the Share Fund, a donor-advised fund of the Greater Washington Community Foundation, whose mission is to strengthen the Washington metropolitan region by encouraging and supporting effective giving by providing leadership on critical issues in its community.
The third is The Lois and Richard England Family Foundation, which is driven by the Englands' desire to improve their community, as well as to support other U.S. and international organizations. We were awarded support geared toward our middle school programming.
And finally, we recieved our first grant from the Rotary Club of Washington, DC. The Club's Foundation awards grants to six causes: promoting peace, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and fighting disease. We are honored to be a recipient.
