One World Education held its third Student Ambassador Speaker Series event on Saturday, October 5th, at Politics and Prose Bookstore and Coffeehouse. Six OWEd Student Ambassadors read their entire One World Reflections and then took questions from the audience. There was a great turnout, and the students demonstrated confidence and knowledge as they presented their essays!
The students have all participated in the One World Writing Program through their schools, and were selected as One World Ambassadors based on the strength of their essays. They were:
- Shannon MacKenzie: Corporate Pollution
- Alex Leonard: Video Games: The Good, the Bad, and the Violent
- Kyon Muldrow: The Price of Happiness
- Jasmine Allen: Drug Abuse in Sports (coming soon)
- Damonne Nickens: Crime Prevention in Youth (coming soon)
- Nida Shareif: Iran's Hold on Speech (coming soon)
If you missed this event, don't worry – we're planning another for the spring!
