A special thank you to Capital One Cafe Ambassadors Phoebe Edwards and Tyrik Nelson. They took time from their busy workdays in downtown DC for a final practice session with One World students during the week leading up to the One World Challenge.
“I talk way too fast, especially when I get nervous, ” said 9th grader Felicia Ogundimu. “They had me practice taking a deep breath to slow down. I completely appreciated how real they were with me. They were taking my ideas seriously. It was completely affirming.”
“Many of these students were facing the same kinds of challenges I did growing up,” said Pheobe Edwards. “They are the voice of the next generation. It made me feel great to realize that Capital One was helping these students to find that voice.”
